Animal Medical Center was formed when Dr. Larry Farley and Dr. Dan Leach merged their practices in 1982. In 1988, Dr. Lane Preston joined them in ownership of the practice. The hospital was expanded in 1991 to nearly double the building size as Animal Medical Center continued to enjoy much success. In the spring of 1997, Dr. Leach retired.
In May of 2001, Dr. Tim Polk was hired by Animal Medical Center as an associate veterinarian and later became co-owner with Dr. Preston in January of 2007.
As the practice continued to grow, it soon became clear more working space was needed to provide excellent animal care. Ground breaking on the second expansion was started in June of 2008. This addition gave Animal Medical Center a total of seven exam rooms, two surgical suites, two triage areas, a consultation room, and a spacious reception area. At the same time, the entire hospital and boarding facility was completely remodeled.
In May 2018, Dr. Preston retired. At that time, Dr. Propp became co-owner with Dr. Polk. Soon after, they decided it was time for Animal Medical Center to step up to the next level. Plans were begun to build a new facility. The practice moved and opened in the new location on December 30th, 2019. Located at 102nd and Quaker, the new building will has increased parking, more exam rooms, expanded hotel accommodations and a more spacious treatment area. Feel free to stop by and check out this new, amazing facility!
